Christ Consciousness

christ consciousness

The first time I heard the term “Christ Consciousness“, it piqued my interest. Especially as someone who had been raised in the Christian church, then later broke away from it, not finding a true connection with Religion. For many years this caused me to reject anything I deemed Religious (aside from the artwork which I have always felt deeply connected to). This really got in the way of me accepting the Spiritual side of my Self. Over the years I have come to understand that Religion and Spirituality are not the same thing…

Religion a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices
Spiritual[ity] – of, relating to, consisting of, or having the nature of spirit; not tangible or material
I associate Religion with Dogma (Institutionalized Systems) and Spirituality with Experience (Nature of Spirit). Exploring our Spiritual side has so much more to do with the Personal Experiences of the Seeker than it does with “following the rules” (which is usually done out of fear). Also, I have come to learn there is a much deeper meaning behind the message of Christ than what is being taught from behind the average American pulpit. I would like to devote this article to the exploration of what the message of Christ and Christ Consciousness is, and how it is experienced. Please get comfy…. there is a LOT to be learned!

Christ Consciousness
by Jane Leu Rekas

I think the first time I may have come across the concept of Christ Consciousness was in my 20s around the time of the year of the Winter Solstice, which happened to be my second favorite holiday (after Halloween).

I was raised with no particular religion, since my mother was a part of the hippy era, and my grandmother took me a few times to a Unitarian service, but that was it.  In fact, our family was fairly biased against Christianity due to the p.c. stance that so many horrors have been done in the name of the religion.  My first exposure to the Bible at all was in college, of course, only as literature and within the context of comparative religious history courses.

~Side note: doing genealogy has revealed a huge number of pastors, clergy
(and psychologists, the lay clergy) in my ancestry. ~

So the idea of fostering the Christ within, came to me through the Yule metaphors, that in the darkest time of the year, there is still a light to be fostered.  And that the loving sentiments of Christ can be fostered within our nature, to essentially develop compassion.

At some point I must have heard about the idea that Christ was an Ascended Master, in a constellation of others.  I think I was attracted to this way of viewing Him because I felt it gave a much more spiritual credence than the common rhetoric I was raised with of “…. oh sure, He was a good Man when he was on earth, an important figure in history.”

Flash forward to my 30s, and I had a series of events that resulted in my moving from the city of Portland (population 600K) to a small town of The Dalles (population 15K).  Long story short, I became involved in 12 Step groups, in town that I used to joke had churches on nearly every corner.  In this time in my life I witnessed miracles of transformation in people who appeared to be very “down-and-out” to obtaining new leases on life, not of their own making.

One man in particular, that I was dating at the time, invited me to go to Bible Study, and I eventually chose to be baptised.  I always continued to question which denomination I could be at home with, but something else was going on for me and that was a mystical relationship with Christ.

Every religion has a fundamentalist side, and a mystical side!

As an aside, the beautiful thing about 12 Step groups is I consider them to promote mysticism, not fundamentalism.  You are encouraged to have your own relationship with whatever you understand your higher power to be, and it can change and transform, according to your own experience, not any external doctrine or dogma.

Anyway, during the time I attended my first church, I had a vision of Christ in a beautiful golden light, and I’ve always thought that light was more yellow than white.

The Yellow Christ (in French: Le Christ jaune)
is a painting executed by Paul Gauguin
in autumn 1889 in Pont-Aven.

At some point in my 30s, I also became interested in A Course in Miracles (ACIM).  If you are not familiar with ACIM, you may have heard of one of it’s most famous proponents, Marianne Williamson.  You can do the course (a daily lesson for one year) by email here.

I refer to ACIM as Christianity for Buddhists, and Buddhism for Christians.  Two psychologists wrote the course, but it was really channeled.  It is a full year of lessons, that are extremely metaphysical, but boil down to the idea that there is only fear and love, and that the true miracles are about forgivenesss.

Flash forward again, to when I began to learn Reiki (or got my first attunement, around Thanksgiving time of 2009).  The reason I was awakened to seek out Reiki, was I had a miscarriage and my doctor recommended I get Reiki.  During that session that I sought out, I was able to significantly heal the guilt and grief of that loss, or at least begin to.  I immediately felt the spiritual power of the energy.

Later, I began to develop a certain clairvoyance, as many gifts are also developed along with Reiki attunement.  I don’t “see the future” but rather, see visual symbols and presences during session.  Not only have I seen Christ, but also both Mary, the virgin and the Magdalene.  I have seen other Angels, most often Michael and Metatron, all attending.

Pt 2 – Arcturians on Christ Consciousness (Sananda)

I had written a post on Christ Consciousness earlier. Then I began reading two books about the Arcturians (shown later in this post).  In both, it was mentioned that the Arcturians identify with Christ Consciousness.
 by Dr Norma J Milanovich
“Where we struggle with the meaning of life and wonder why we are even here, they claim that they are aided by the Ascended Masters, work for Jesus, the Christ and other magnificent Beings such as Ashtar and Kuthumi, and have transcened that struggle of reality centuries ago. They state emphatically that they are here on a mission of Love and Light, and testify that they are only some among many entities who presently are aiding Earth and its inhabitants on a journey into the next millenium.” p. xv-xvi

by Patricia Pereira

“The Arcturians use many descriptive terms to identify God.  Their purpose is to expand our perception of God, the universe, and self as Soul (a spiritual being cloaked in physical form). Additionally, they refer to Christed Energy as Sananda, or the Essence, Christ is defined by Paramahansa Yoganda in Divine Romance as one who “rose above ordinary human consciousness and entered the cosmic Christ Consciousness, the pure reflection of God present in all creation.”  The Arcturians recognize Christ Consciousness as one who has incarnated on Earth many times to serve all humanity, not only as Jesus, but also as Krishna, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Moses, Mohammed, Quetzlcoatl, and The Dawn Star, among others.” p 5-6
“SANANDA: The Christ, or High Christ Consciousness, Christ Essence, Higher vibrational identification given to Earth’s Avatar Supreme by the Intergalactic Brotherhood of Light.  Incarnated upon Earth as Jesus, Krishna, Buddha, Mohammed, Quetzalcoatl, and more. Masculine vibration.” p. xii

Sandanda

“The Ascended Master Sananda/Jesus/Christ serves as the World Teacher, and was one of the greatest Spiritual Healers who walked our beloved planet Earth.

Jesus Christ, Jesus the Christ – because of the fullness of manifesting the Christ Self, “Only Begotten Son of God”, Lord and Savior (Saviour), Incarnation of the Word, the Universal Christ (the Word Incarnate) , Cosmic Christ , World Savior (Saviour) , World Teacher, Yeshua, the Messiah of Israel , Avatar of the Piscean Age – the example of the Christ Consciousness that was to have been out pictured in that two-thousand year Dispensation, World Teacher (since January 1, 1956), Formerly – Chohan of the Sixth Ray until December 31, 1959, when beloved Lady Master Nada fully took on the Office of Chohan of the Sixth Ray, Holds the Office for this evolution of the “Only Begotten Son” – and therefore the Representative not only of that Universal Christ but also of the individual Holy Christ Self. Responsible for: Ruby Ray , Purple and Gold Ray , Resurrection Flame , Twelve Legions of Angels from the Heart of the Father/Mother God , Angels of Peace , Angels of Love , Angels of the Ruby Ray , Angels of the Purple and Gold Ray , Angels of the Resurrection Flame  .
Jesus Christ is known as Sananda in the inner planes. He is the Master of the sixth ray, the ray of abstract idealism and devotion, which is indigo. During His incarnation as Jesus, He was a high priest in the order of Melchizedek and was overshadowed during His life by Lord Maitreya. He also had lives as Adam, Enoch, Jeshua, Joshua, Elijah and Joseph of Egypt. He works with Archangel Uriel to bring peace, brotherhood, service and freedom to people. Many missionaries, lawyers, public servants, social workers, blue collar workers, farmers and business people are on this ray.”
